Utilize AI apps and platforms before they become commercialized and unpleasant

As many of you can remember, around 10 years ago, the internet and mobile apps, in particular, were a very different experience. The industry was exploding, and development was driven by innovation. Apps didn't have annoying ads, they weren't data-hungry and intrusive as they are today, and the whole experience of downloading and using an app was generally exciting and enjoyable.

Fast forward to today, and it's the complete opposite. These days, before you even get to use an app, it's already asking you for your name, a thousand permissions, credit card details, and even your blood type. It's already pushed 1000s ads on you and is already in the background getting other information that you haven't really allowed it to get and being intrusive as uncomfortably as possible.

Sadly, that's the reality of the internet today. Every app does this, and if you think they don't, I have news for you.

AIs and AI apps are currently in what I call the "sweet, enjoyable sweet spot," like mobile apps back in the early days. They are free to use, not yet filled with ads, and you can start using really good AIs that won't require you to log in or ask for a lot of information. Apps like HeyPi and Perplexity come to mind. Even the ones that require login and signups are still in the sweet spot: no ads, no annoying data-hungry actions, just right where you want them. You open, do what you want, and leave. Safe to say, the experience is still good and nice.

Sadly, as we all know, that won't last long. Predictably, as usage increases, ads will start showing up, companies will start paying to have their results or content shown to users more, and inevitably, we might cycle back to what the internet currently is: a horrible experience.

So, I urge all of you to take this opportunity to use and utilize these apps and platforms while they're still innocent, well-intentioned, and the experience is still enjoyable. Because, and I could be wrong, but as we all know, this won't last long.
